Serra International Foundation doners funded Serra’s work at home and abroad in 2022
My Dear Serrans,
I am pleased to share this issue of The Serran magazine containing an annual report of the Foundation, its beneficiaries, and those whose financial support in 2022 made it possible.
Throughout this issue you will find a summary of the awards funded this year, as well as stories of individual grant recipients. In addition, the Honor Roll and the Banner Club features recognize individuals and Serra Clubs who contributed to the work of the Foundation in the 2022 calendar year.
Thanks to all who so generously provided support for the education, enrichment and physical needs of priests, religious, seminarians and novices. Your gifts, in particular, supported the United States Council to continue developing Serra Spark program for dioceses, parishes, religious, schools and others working to promote and cultivate vocations. In addition, funding supported the North American College in Rome, where seminarians from the US study, as well as the Institute for Priestly Formation, where priests and seminarians receive enrichment and formation.
This fall, we received 80 grant applicants at the September 30 deadline, with a combined total request of over $1 million. I ask your prayers for the needs of the applicants and for our board as we discern how to best allocate the Foundation’s resources.
Please consider a gift to the Foundation. When you make a contribution, you are helping Serra accomplish its global mission of supporting vocations both locally and to the far corners of the earth.
On behalf of the Serra International Foundation Board, thank you for your generosity and for all you do to make Serra a valuable resource in the Church. And may God bless you for your goodness.
Mary Mother of Vocations, pray for us!
President, Serra International Foundation
