Hispanic North Houston and St. Cloud Take Top Prizes in Serra’s Fifth Membership Drive

By Candice Tyrrell
Membership VP, Serra US Council

The Missionaries of Saint Junípero Serra Contest was once again a great success in 2024!

We saw 135 Serra Clubs register for the contest. Those clubs saw a combined 962 new members for the contest year July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.

A big thank you to all the clubs that registered for the contest! Ruben Gallegos gave a generous donation to launch the contest with Greg Schwietz chairing for three years. I began chairing in 2022 with Greg as a great mentor.

The contest has been a success every year with the goal of fostering vocations to the Priesthood and Consecrated Religious Life.

The Hispanic Club of North Houston was this year’s winner in the Large Club category, claiming the first-place prize of $1,000. The club grew by more than a third, welcoming 28 new members into the fold. St. Cloud, MN, won the Small Club category, with 28 new members.

Congratulations to all the winners!
