Serra’s 83rd International Convention will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana, also known as “the crossroads of America!” Indianapolis Serrans are excited to welcome you to their unique yet all-American city. Perhaps known best for the largest single-day sporting event in the world, the Indy 500, Indianapolis has so much more to offer.

Downtown is home to White River State Park with a cluster of museums, attractions, and green space just a walk away from our host hotel, the Hyatt Regency. The scenic Central Canal runs through the park and connects with the renowned Indianapolis Cultural Trail which spans ten miles and can carry you to the city’s neighborhoods including Mass Ave, Fountain Square, and Indiana Avenue. Indy has more monuments and memorials than any U.S. city outside of Washington DC. Of course, Serrans will visit the late-Gothic style St. Mary’s Church in downtown Indy, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, both about 10 minutes from our hotel.

This beautifully restored 19th-century landmark is the seat of state government and a striking example of classical architecture, featuring grand corridors, ornate chambers, and a magnificent central dome.

Optional Tour Wednesday afternoon: Native American and Western Art at Eiteljorg Museum

Discover one of the Midwest’s most distinctive cultural treasures at the Eiteljorg Museum in downtown Indianapolis. Optional Tour, Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – Catholic Architecture Tour

Indianapolis Serran and accomplished church architect, Michael Eagan, will lead a tour of architecturally significant Catholic churches in the area, included the old and the new. We will visit Holy Rosary, Sacred Heart, St. Joan of Arc and Nativity churches, finishing at Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary for a tour of the “castle” where Indianapolis archdiocesan priests begin their formal formation.

Thursday Morning Tour Option 2: Indiana Statehouse
